AHL: Cleveland Monsters Sign Riley Bezeau

The Cleveland Monsters today joined the free agency fun as they signed forward Riley Bezeau to a one-year AHL contract. The Eastern Conference Champion Charlotte Checkers continued to be gutted. Bezeau in 24 regular-season games for the Checkers had five points on two goals and three assists. He was a plus-three with 32 penalty minutes. In five Calder Cup Playoff games, he had three points, all coming via goals. He was a plus-two with 39 penalty minutes. Bezeau also played in five games in the ECHL this season with the Savannah Ghost Pirates. He had five points on three goals and two assists. Bezeau was a plus-three and didn’t record a single penalty minute.

Bezeau spent three seasons with the Checkers, playing in 107 games. He recorded 20 points on ten goals and ten assists. He was a minus-three with 170 penalty minutes and had one game-winning goal. In seven career Calder Cup Playoff games, he had three points which all came this season. He recorded just one shot on goal in the two other playoff games that weren’t played this season. In three seasons with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL before joining the Checkers, he played in 93 games. Bezeau had 38 points on 17 goals and 21 assists. He was a minus-two with 105 penalty minutes.
