AHL: Hartford Wolf Pack Sign Gavin Hain

The Hartford Wolf Pack today joined the free agency chaos as they signed forward Gavin Hain. Hain spent the last season with the Iowa Wild. In 25 games, Hain recorded five points on three goals and two assists. He was a minus-five and recorded 15 penalty minutes. Hain, a 2018 sixth-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Flyers, has yet to find a true home.

Hain played his college hockey at the University of North Dakota. In 141 collegiate games, he recorded 55 points on 31 goals and 24 assists. He was a plus-ten and had 121 penalty minutes. In his first season after college, he played in six games with the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL, scoring two goals. He was a plus-one and had six penalty minutes. This season in 26 games with Heartlanders, he had 27 points on ten goals and 17 assists. He was a plus-four and had eight penalty minutes. In 72 AHL games, all with Iowa, he had 15 points on nine goals and six assists. He was a minus-two with 35 penalty minutes. The Wild re-signed him last offseason, but now he finds himself as a member of the New York Rangers organization.
