AHL: Texas Stars Captain Returns for Tenth Season

The Texas Stars today announced that they are re-signing captain Curtis McKenzie, marking the 2025-26 season as his tenth season with Texas. In 67 games this season, recording 30 points on 15 goals and 15 assists. He was a minus-nine with 86 penalty minutes, four power-play goals, and two game-winning goals. He helped lead the Stars to the Western Conference Finals. In 14 games, he had ten points on five goals and five assists. He was a plus-nine and had ten penalty minutes and two game-winning goals.

Curtis McKenzie

In his ten seasons with the Stars, he’s played in 495 games, recording 372 points on 153 goals and 219 assists. He is +32 with 55 power-play goals and 17 game-winning goals. He spent his first five seasons with Texas before spending three seasons elsewhere, playing with the Chicago Wolves for two seasons and the Utica Comets for one before returning to Texas, where he spent the last four seasons. In those three combined seasons, he played in 158 games, recording 109 points on 42 goals and 67 assists. McKenzie was a plus-six with 11 power-play goals and six game-winning goals. In 653 career AHL games, he has 481 points on 195 goals and 286 assists. McKenzie is a career +38 with 66 power-play goals and 23 game-winning goals.
