The Lions will have one Cormier brother back next season as the Trois-Rivières Lions announced that they’ve re-signed Tommy Cormier for the 2025-26 season. His brother, Xavier Cormier, has signed a contract to play in Slovakia next year. In his rookie season, Tommy would put up 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 71 games, and had three multi-goal games for the Lions. He would have a goal and an assist in 14 Kelly Cup Playoff games. The Lions now lead the league with eight players signed for the 2025-26 season. Cormier is the sixth forward who is signed for next season. This will be an advantage for Trois-Rivières as qualifying offers are due on Monday.

“Obviously, my expectations are higher this year compared to my first. Still, I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself—I’m going to work hard to perform and help the team win.”
