Bender Smitty and at Mr Matty Barry or also at Bruins Benders and here we are with the Bruins digging themselves out
0:57
of a little bit of hole here on the West Coast started out poorly but all of a sudden back from the dead a little bit
1:04
yeah two and two on the trip now uh it looked like it was going to be a disaster uh and now with uh some good
1:13
fortune in Edmonton maybe they have a winning road trip who would have thought who would have thought it honestly I
1:19
mean the first game you know Vancouver they they kind of blast them they play one of their better games of the year
1:25
yeah uh and then of course Calgary they come back and uh from a 3-1 deficit when
1:31
it looked like it was going to be another one of those tough road losses where they just let it get away from them um but they showed the resilience
1:38
they haven't showed yet much this season yeah it was uh surprising uh I
1:46
thought when they were down 3-1 at the second in of mission I thought they were done they haven't played many good third
1:52
periods this season um it's been a trend this year and uh I thought it would be
1:58
more of the same but you know they responded they got one early tied it up and then uh really carried the play the
2:05
last 10 minutes or so of the third and it looked like they might even win it regulation um but uh we're able to get
2:11
the job done on a absolute snipe by David poso in overtime yeah it was it
2:16
was a really good win uh at this point in the season for sure and the rapid review has them at Seattle for game two
2:23
of the trip after getting ball stomped in Winnipeg 8 to1 and they turn around
2:29
they lose five to one to the Kraken in much a similar fashion uh just not a
2:35
great effort at all on the trip and it really started to think and on that
2:40
postgame we were even discussing how this could be a five game losing streak on a zero and five trip in really taking
2:48
on water but uh it has turned around since but this was another low this is
2:54
probably these two games here the low point of the Sako era yeah definitely
2:59
the low part of the Sako era um you know outscored 13 to2 on the first two games
3:04
of the trip uh you know you're really feeling bad about where the team's at uh and then you're looking at you know a
3:11
Vancouver team that shut you out at home uh as the next game so you know
3:17
definitely some worry some times there uh but you know the Bruins were able to respond in the uh in the Vancouver game
3:24
yeah and then as we said out of nowhere a 5 to1 win over Vancouver who not very
3:30
good at home this season uh but the but the Bruins put together one of their better efforts uh one of the closer to
3:37
60 Minutes of hockey for them in a five to one win and they sort of ran just won
3:43
and sort of carried the play throughout they did they did it was a it was a good game from from start to end for them and
3:51
um they haven't had many of those this season so it was good to see especially against the playoff team we've talked at
3:57
length about how they've Str struggled against uh teams in the playoff picture uh so a
4:03
really good win on the road uh to to kind of start to help maybe Salvage this
4:08
road trip a little bit Yeah and then the flames and it looked like after a terrible first period that even Elias
4:14
lolm said was as bad as it can be uh at the intermission uh the Bruins fall
4:19
behind and the second period after not so great second uh 3 to one heading into
4:25
the third and you thought well typically this season this one gets away from them and they they sort of Let It Go could
4:33
lose 5-1 61 and that's what's happened in the past even in this trip yeah and
4:39
uh and instead the Bruins really fight and scratch and Claw and Mark M wafflin gets a huge goal greasy gold to pretty
4:47
much on his stomach uh and ties it up at three and then poso with a snipe toward
4:53
the end of a shift in the end of overtime where he just kind of even admitted I just threw it on net to see
4:59
if it would go in um and it goes in and the ruins win yeah I mean that's uh poso
5:06
there in a nutshell for you like he's just kind of cruising through the middle of the zone and all of a sudden you know
5:12
just just pulls one and rips one Far Side off the post and in in ball game uh
5:19
you know didn't it looked like a nothing play like you know Vancouver had a couple guys back um but um you know
5:26
that's why he gets paid what he gets paid because he's can score go like that there's not many people in the league
5:31
that can that can do what he did on that particular play uh and you know that's
5:36
obviously why he's uh their Superstar and their you know leading goal scorer
5:42
yeah was a little bit of an exchange on the goal where pasta wanted to change and makoy wanted to change and and pasta
5:49
said you keep it and then makoy passed it to him and said you you take it yeah and makao went to the was headed toward
5:56
the bench he wanted to change and play sneaky terrible play by kadre he tries a
6:03
sort of a home run play try a one-on-one move that doesn't work and then goes for
6:09
a really lazy slow change yeah while the other way and it ended up costing them
6:16
yeah that you know things like that happen in three on three like if if you make a you know a I'll call it a selfish
6:23
play I don't know if it was a selfish play but a individual play uh in in a three onree situation and then you fail
6:30
and uh go for a slow change you're automatically giving the team you know the opposing team an odd me and Rush um
6:39
and uh yeah it ended up biting them I mean it's happened to the Bruins before the Bruins have been notorious for
6:45
having bad line changes at at inopportune times uh so this time it you
6:50
know it it bit the Flames instead of the Bruins which was uh you know nice to see for once sure um all right seven chirps

7:15
would you invest resources into making this Bruins team a
7:21
contender uh no no I wouldn't uh but what I would do is if you have pieces
7:27
that are ufas uh or rfas that you're not interested in resigning I would look to move those
7:33
guys I would try to reshape the team on the Fly uh and get some things back for assets that you don't want to keep so I
7:40
would still make some trades to try to improve the team I just don't think you have enough or can do enough to turn
7:47
them into a contender uh they may still make the playoffs and then you know anything can happen if swming gets hot
7:53
and they're playing well at the right time anything can happen but I I wouldn't be looking to mortgage you know
8:01
the future I'm not trading first round picks or anything like that to try to bring people in um so I I'm looking to
8:08
make some trades and try to improve the team but it's really more from the standpoint of getting rid of some guys
8:14
that you don't see as part of the future I think this team is really close to being one of those tempting teams where
8:20
you think well we just got one more guy yeah especially if they keep kind of winning and hanging in there and they're
8:26
close to a division title don't quite get there but you're like gez you know just one more guy one veteran guy could
8:33
help us and it's a little tempting I think it's Fool's Gold I think it's I just wouldn't do it and I'm with you I
8:40
would trade the ufas and rfas you're not interested in I mean if you're not interested in Johnny beer then you
8:45
package him you're not interested in Trent Frederick Morgan geeky especially now where Geeks is playing much better
8:53
like strike Wally iron's hot like go ahead and do it um so I'm with you on those things par W I don't care who it
8:58
is wild spoon whatever like I get you know you can position yourself I think
9:04
toward the offseason where you could be in a better spot like a a pretty good spot in the offseason to try to get a
9:11
couple of guys or make a trade that could really work you could really help
9:16
yourself but recent history has shown that the Bruins stand Pat they stand Pat
9:23
a ton and they squeeze the life out of whatever nucleus they have they don't
9:29
take risky moves they don't um you know
9:34
they they kind of hang in hang in and then don't make a play on somebody or don't trade a jake debrusk or don't
9:41
trade uh Trent Frederick and then end up losing them you know and and I just
9:46
think it's it's poor Asset Management I don't think trading Frederick Frederick
9:52
is an interesting case because from what is being said he has a lot of interest but I don't really think he's moving the
9:58
needle on this current team so this is a perfect opportunity yeah he's not at all moving
10:04
the needle on this team think he's more valuable than you then you let him go yeah I I mean if you're getting good
10:11
offers or if you can create some kind of a bidding war for him yeah and drive the price up from from contenders that see
10:18
him as a piece that maybe they need whether it's the toughness factor or a guy who can play on the third line and
10:24
score goals or or hits or you know whatever the case may be whatever you
10:30
think or they think he adds yeah Drive the price up and then trade him um you
10:36
know while you can get something good especially if you're not going to resign him and and some of the contract numbers
10:41
I've heard are outrageous for a guy who has done next to nothing this year he's
10:47
going to regress as far as his uh Point totals from the previous two years he's
10:52
he's projected at 28 points I think he had 40 last year and two years ago he had 31 so he's under both of those total
10:59
he's a minus player for the first time in a few years as well so uh there's plenty of reasons to move on he's he's
11:07
replaceable uh you have plenty of guys within your farm system or on the current roster that you could plug in
11:14
there and then and then bring another guy up so um he's a he's to me in my
11:19
opinion he's 100% a a trade candidate and and a
11:25
guy that you should move because you you don't want to keep him he's not you're
11:31
not going to pay him the four and change million dollars a year that he's looking for so Now's the Time and that leads us
11:38
right into chirp too according to Elliot Freedman of 32 thoughts Trent Frederick and the Bruins are reportedly not close
11:44
on a deal and would you move him at the deadline or hold him for a hopeful playoff run I would move him 100% yeah
11:51
uh I would like you said get as many teams on board like maybe a Dallas would want them or maybe a who knows maybe a
11:57
Colorado would want them maybe minnes soda may you know maybe a team would even take him as a rental knowing he'd
12:03
be a rental and really wants to make a playoff push and we'll give you a couple assets then do it like just do it if you
12:10
don't think you're gonna see this is the thing like this is the thing about Sweeney is that he's had a lot of people
12:17
take sort of discounted deals or you know fair market deals and you can't
12:25
tell me that you wouldn't think that Swan was you know how do you not know that Jeremy Swan wanted a certain number
12:33
with judging by his agent judging by the things he was saying I mean he was pretty candid about I want to set the
12:39
market and all that other stuff yeah how would you think that it would work you know what I mean so that's what I don't
12:45
understand like do you really think Tred Fred Fred Trent Frederick's gonna come down from whatever number he's throwing
12:51
out there or whatever his fair value is I don't even know what it is but do you really think you're GNA meet somewhere
12:57
on that I just don't I just think that he's Sweeney is really you know he's
13:02
just kind of um I don't think he knows yeah yeah it really questions whether he
13:09
does I don't think he does uh they overpaid for Elias Lindholm they overpaid for zorov um you know they they
13:16
uh let debrusk walk because they thought maybe he wasn't going to get the contract that he was looking for um you
13:23
know they they I don't think he knows the marketplace and if Frederick is hearing that he can get for and change
13:30
it's probably his agent uh being tampered with like there's probably people reaching out to his agent saying
13:35
look we'll give Freddy you know foreign change in the coming years um so I feel
13:42
like Now's the Time for Sweeney to move him and I I agree with you I don't think he's going to do it I just don't that
13:49
it's never been hiso to move a guy in Season when they're in kind of the playoff picture you know they don't want
13:56
to take away from the core from the group blah blah BL all this like sorry John but it's time it's time
14:03
if you he's not part of your plans you got to move him now instead of let him
14:08
letting them walk for nothing it's just it's a terrible Asset Management especially for a team that needs assets
14:15
that needs a better farm system it's Now's the Time to do it I almost feel like if you were more of that if you
14:21
were more that way it would also give the players a little bit less of a sense
14:27
of comfort you know what I mean like I feel the players are really comfortable I feel like if you make one or two of
14:32
those moves that it just leads people to be that I could be moved if I don't produce right know I'm saying yeah AG
14:39
that piece too sure I think that I agree 100 perc I think that's a that's a good
14:44
point by you that it you know if if these guys were a little less comfortable you know maybe You' get them
14:50
to play a little bit harder at certain times and point you know points in times yeah uh chirp uh number three uh Oliver
14:58
walstrom claimed from the new New York Islanders a BC guy a South Portland Main
15:03
guy um thoughts on the claim and the expectations for walstrom uh I think the expectations are
15:10
wildly out of touch same with same with Tyler Johnson I mean people are just
15:15
craving for someone to come in and score goals I think the expect I mean that's what it is is that people know that they
15:21
need goal scoring and he was an offensive player uh you know in college and Junior Hockey so they see that they
15:28
also see he was a first- round pick 11th overall so you see all of that but he hasn't produced at the at the NHL level
15:35
um but I like I like the signing just because there is offensive upside there
15:42
uh and maybe he needs a change of scenery look the Islanders are a black hole of suck they always have been um
15:48
people like to leave there Jonathan t uh John tarus left there like people don't stay on the islands because the team's
15:55
terrible no one cares and it's you know it's just uh you know drab kind of
16:01
boring place to play um so maybe a change of scenery will do it maybe being
16:07
closer to home will do it but in my opinion it's just a lowrisk you know
16:13
potentially High reward thing so I I don't see a pro I don't have a problem with it um you know maybe he fits in and
16:19
and he he can find that scoring touch yeah we might find out Thursday night when they take on uh
16:26
Edmonton um hopefully uh they have a decent game against Edmonton because
16:32
Edmonton gives them all the fits that any team would mean they have the size the speed the skill all the things that
16:38
would really give the Bruins a hard time are coming on Thursday night so you know
16:43
maybe you know what the wallr thing I same with Johnson like I mean I get the point of the highrisk you know the
16:49
lowrisk high reward thing I I mean I get it but I just feel like you didn't have
16:55
to do these things if you just uh went out and instead of spending all sorts of
17:01
money on zadorov and lolm just went out and got a couple of guys who could potentially score a few goals you know 20 goals a piece or whatever and then
17:08
just you know sort of live with it and then see what the kids could do and then at the trade deadline maybe have a
17:14
little bit of money you can make a move or something you know what I mean I just feel like now they're they're grasping at straws
17:20
yeah Sweeney himself said that they left the roster short so right and that's you
17:26
know they they left the roster short because they got a guy who's a complete fraking pylon who who you know punches a
17:34
guy every 15 games and coughs the puck up repeatedly for five million bucks a
17:40
year like yeah if you're left of roster short why did you go get a guy you
17:46
really didn't need I mean you could have gone with some other Bargain Basement defenseman playing third pair with
17:53
Andrew Peak and been fine like yeah instead you get you give all this money
17:58
to this guy so that's your fault like that's you're you're short because you
18:03
spent that money and resources on that guy I agree stupid I agree I don't think
18:09
they I think they overpaid for him I think they overpaid for lindol yeah um and they did leave themselves short they
18:15
don't have enough scoring they don't have enough scoring depth um you know they're finding it now a little bit with
18:21
some of the you know secondary scoring guys you know mlin scored and and geeki is getting hot now a little bit playing
18:28
with vaka and Pono so you know maybe there's some some hope there but you know still they left themselves short
18:36
but but I know why because he thought they'd get great goal tending and really good defensive structure and they would
18:42
be able to get by with their lack of goal scoring that's what he thought he thought we'll be a defensive structure
18:48
really good goal tending signed our guy here we go and it backfired didn't didn't work that way I mean the
18:54
defensive structure hasn't been as good at all and the and their goal tending is he got a 3 42 or whatever the he's
19:01
got like he's just he hasn't been he hasn't been nearly an 8.25 as Connor would say no no he would not no he is
19:08
not there you have it like there you have it I mean it's I mean I don't I
19:14
don't know I mean I just I just I really question whe what how he cannot build a
19:20
roster no he can't I think he failed I think he failed in the off season um and
19:27
it just everything kind of rolled over in the season I I mean he I think he
19:33
messed up the allmark trade I think he messed up the the swayman signing I think he misjudged that he clearly
19:40
misjudged uh the market on Lind Holm and zadorov I think he was bidding against himself in those instances the training
19:47
camp was a mess disjointed mess they waited too long on uh firing Montgomery
19:54
uh they should have either done it in the off season or done it earlier in the season when Montgomery had already seemed to check check out uh there's a
20:02
number of issues that I have with Sweeney and the way he's handled this entire roster this entire season um and
20:09
I don't think he should be the one to build the new roster I don't think he should be around for that he I don't think he's earned that right I think
20:16
he's made too many mistakes prior to that and it's it's it shouldn't be him it should be someone else we'll see if
20:22
that happens if they sneak into the playoffs he's probably still around um but um you know I don't I'm I don't I'm
20:29
not confident in in how he would um kind of re retool and rebuild this team yeah
20:35
all right chirp number four Elias linol has had two of his better games against his former team the Flames why not more
20:43
often uh I wish I knew um you know is he getting up even more for those games I
20:50
mean I he said Calgary has a special place in his heart um you know with him
20:55
being there for a long time I think he met his wife there as one of his kids kids was born there so you know good
21:00
memories there and and I mean that happens with everybody you know scored a goal against Boston and in
21:07
the return back he does back to Boston so that's just it's one of those things um but I I would like like to see him
21:15
consistently play more like he's played in these games uh and if that's the case
21:20
you know he's still probably overpaid but maybe not as vastly overpaid as we think
21:26
yeah right um you know if he settles more into a number two Center kind of role than than uh I mean he's not a
21:33
number one let's be honest but a good number two would be yeah but if he can be a good number two and score you know
21:40
do the zaka coil thing where he has you know 60th points and is good in the playoffs and he wins faceoffs and he's
21:46
responsible defend like all that's good um but he's still probably overpaid by a few million bucks um so um but yeah if
21:56
he can play more like he played in these games that would go a long way towards the Bruins kind of solving maybe some of
22:02
their Center issues and and um you know their push towards the playoffs chirp
22:07
five the Bruins have a decision to make on Mark mlin who scored against the Flames uh when he gets to the 10 go game
22:14
threshold he'll have to be sent through waivers to be sent down I would imagine they'll send him down before then uh do
22:20
you feel that that's happening maybe even Thursday it's possible they could do it Thursday just as a you know a
22:26
transactional move uh uh I don't think he deserves to get sent down but but another case of a younger guy who really
22:34
kind of shows he belongs yeah and you send him down
22:39
yeah well I'm gonna pull the old uh what do they say is it on fgr M that you
22:44
can't get you can't get blamed for something that hasn't happened yet right I'll give him the benefit of the doubt
22:50
that you know he hasn't sent mlin down yet so we'll see what happens with that maybe he stays and maybe they wave Tyler
22:57
Johnson or I mean who knows but he deserves to be here um he's scored goals
23:03
when he's been with the Bruins and he plays hard uh he skates pretty well he's
23:08
kind of gritty he was a captain at BC so like you know he he knows the the
23:15
structure and the system and the leadership things like that's all part of it uh he's willing to block shots
23:21
he's just happy to be in the NHL and I think you get uh kind of a bump
23:27
throughout the room when guys that are Fringe guys um or
23:33
guys that are happy to be in the NHL and come up and play as hard as they can I think that that you get a little bump
23:38
throughout the rest of the roster because they give you a little extra energy that maybe you wouldn't get from
23:44
a veteran guy who's been around a while sure and it's and it's six goals in 22 games played as as in his career that's
23:52
that's like a 22 game NHL season full NHL season that's that's a 20 goal score
23:58
yeah that's a 20 goore's your 20 goal score done there's your 20 goal score so
24:04
there you go yep uh Cher six we've talked about the Bruins turning a corner does the comeback win show anything
24:10
about this team uh possibly I'll go there I I I'm
24:16
not ready to say they've turned a corner because again you know they're still you know five wins and five and 14 against
24:23
playoff teams or five and whatever it is against playoff teams even after the win Vancouver um Calgary is not a playoff
24:30
team but they they do play uh decently well at home and Wolf's been good uh so
24:36
that was a that was an encouraging win I'll go I'll go that far an encouraging win because um their third periods have
24:43
been terrible so that in of itself was a turnaround that was nice to see that
24:49
they um they were able to get a couple goals to tie it and then you know really
24:54
really put on the pressure towards the end of that game uh and and probably deserve to win outright in the third
25:01
period um you know based on the amount of pressure and chances they had um so
25:07
encouraging I'll say but you know not out of the woods yet there's still like even within that game there was some you
25:13
know lapses defensively in the second period that uh you know wideopen slot shots like you can't give that to good
25:20
teams if you do that against Edmonton um you'll lose seven nothing I mean hubero
25:26
walked down the slot in the first period wide open and they're lucky he didn't score I mean he missed the net like oh
25:31
my God playing as day um you know they still have some issues they need to
25:37
clean up they still have trouble when teams for check hard and the defense pinch Down the Walls of getting it out
25:42
of Their Own Zone the defense in this game had a ton of giveaways um so
25:48
you know there's still issues there but the third period resiliency and the comeback was definitely encouraging yeah
25:55
and then uh trip seven is Charlie a better at right wing at this point in
26:00
his career um he might be uh and in that um
26:06
that unit I think I think there was a tweet uh outshot him 81 yeah out shot him 81 with uh with
26:14
Coyle on on the right wing uh they flipped brazzo and and Coyle there uh the lines um he might be a pretty good
26:21
fit there with Marsh and and and lindol um doing some of the puck possession stuff down low and then getting the puck
26:27
to lindol and to make plays um I would I would try it I would I would stick with that and and
26:34
see if that can get Coy going because God knows he needs to get going um what
26:39
he's done so far hasn't been good enough and you really didn't notice him at all in this game until they made that switch
26:46
so I would I would try that out I would be willing to try that out for a bit and see if maybe he's the answer uh there
26:54
you know until you can find someone better yeah I think so too and I you know hopefully it does work out for them
27:00
because that would help them a ton if he could play some some really good second line right wing and then brazzo and
27:07
Frederick and celik all the more reason to send Frederick and see we get someone in that you know third line spot there's
27:14
a there's a decent player uh down in Providence that's that's doing a pretty good job down there that that might fit
27:20
that third line Center Spot Center Bang Yeah with cck and brazzo to a rose between two th or Thorn
27:29
between to whatever the yeah yeah it be every rose has a store all right

28:57
requirements yeah like just like um you know tongue twisting my life roll off
29:02
the tong yeah rolls right off the tongue um hey Conor stop brunch cut what do you
29:08
say I do have one this week and in kind of the holiday theme some people like to
29:16
hang out with the fam watch the movies maybe you know some people are the Christmas movie goers so I had to think
29:24
what are a couple different sets of movies here that you guys can bust it
29:29
down and tell me out of these three wonderful trilogies that you would start
29:36
bench cut and I have the Lord of the Rings trilogy The Godfather
29:43
Trilogy Star Wars Trilogy this is hilarious to me because I'm I'm gonna go
29:48
out on the limb and say Matt has not seen number one or number three so I think he's gonna he's gonna vote number
29:56
two did I cut two you go ahead but you go
30:02
ahead I I'll say this I did when I was about eight I did see Star Wars one I think maybe I think I saw Billy D
30:09
Williams uh I was gonna say I mean the even if you pick the early Trilogy it
30:14
was during your age range it was my time so it's yeah I probably saw a Return of the Jedi at some some birthday party you
30:21
know in elementary school so I'm going to go Godfather 100% star Godfather uh
30:27
Ben Star Wars and then cut the hell out of anything Jr token's ever done in his
30:33
life yeah yeah that's what I'm doing yeah I I had a feeling um I really liked
30:41
the first two Godfather movies a lot but I was a Star Wars kid so to me I'm
30:46
starting Star Wars I'm benching The Godfather and I did enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy but um yeah that's
30:54
that's third out of these uh out of these me I'm C this is what happens when you have a nerdy producer I mean you know what I
31:00
mean you just got to throw the you know and that's fine I mean you know that's it adds a thank me that I didn't torture
31:09
you and throw Harry Potter in there some oh my God Harry Potter the books are to
31:14
I just don't have the focus it should have been The Hangover trilogy there you goac movies AR maybe
31:22
yeah yeah the vacation movies indana Jones you throw Indiana Jones in there
31:27
what I mean is the last maybe after Tyler comes back from uh vacation we'll do a uh a comedy movie theme star bench
31:35
C there there you go there you go hey don't sleep I'll tell you what do not sleep on Cheaper by the Dozen I love
31:42
those movies but Eugene Levy and Steve Martin with the two families competing those are pretty good movies really yeah
31:50
those I I really like those movies I don't know if I've ever seen those movies yeah they were good they would have two competing families doing these
31:56
competitions and they were like Eugene Levy was like the you know they were like the hot shots and they'd always win
32:01
and Steve Martin was always a lovable loser type thing and it was it was a pretty good pretty good uh did you ever
32:07
watch The Master of Disguise then Matt no that was around that time frame with
32:13
uh uh Dana car Cary or whatever Dana Cary yeah there you go that's a pretty
32:20
good movie is it I have to check that one out too um all right Beauty for this week hey how about this a prospect well
32:28
I don't even know if he's a prospect anymore but rookie Matthew Patra gonna
32:33
love you they're going to be loving you from D until death yeah six game goal
32:39
streak from Matt Patra he's been outstanding he's had 14 points he's he's
32:44
really dominating what you'd hope he would do and uh they play tonight I believe on the NHL Network I think the
32:51
game's on tonight on uh Wednesday night to to see if he can go to seven games
32:56
you know else has a you know has a seven game goal streak your buddy Jake gensel yeah he
33:02
does he's got seven straight games with a goal yeah he does he'd look nice in black and gold you sure but Maddy is
33:08
doing well so I think you know we're we're we're on the keep him down train like keep him
33:14
down until you until you move somebody off this roster and then plug them right in plug them right in once you trade
33:20
Trent Frederick for uh you know a second round pick uh or uh a good Young Center
33:26
uh fingers crossed then uh then you can uh plug ptra right in on that third line Center roll uh
33:34
with castlec and uh you know brazzo and uh roll with it and and see what you can
33:41
do there so uh yeah I um I'd be down with that I'm I'm in and the and the
33:47
Bender is same as the old Bender yeah the Bender is a good friends the Boston
33:53
Bruins management bender and you know why they get it is because matth Matthew ptra is down there uh and Fabian lel's
34:01
down there and Georgie merula's down there um and they all should probably
34:06
still be in the NHL probably even though we we're happy to see ptra developing
34:11
down in the NHL in the AHL level um but you know they could have gone without
34:16
the Riley tuties and the Cole kepes and the max Joneses and the Tyler Johnson's of the world and you should have given
34:23
these guys a chance they should have had a chance especially merkulov like I don't know what you think merul Love's
34:30
going to do down there that can help you determine you know what he can do if he can't do it then just you know send him
34:37
just package him with somebody or just send him get a feeler out just get whatever you can for him he was an
34:43
undrafted free agent yeah might just where you can he he has uh he's having
34:48
another good AHL season he had a really good AHL season last year uh he has an
34:53
assist in three games when he did get a cup of coffee with the brones uhuh so I
34:58
mean if you wanna if you want to play the you know the projected Pace there
35:04
you know that's a you know 30 whatever Point Season sure
35:09
so I mean I know it's one assist in three games so it's it's tough to play that game but at the same time like you
35:17
know it's possible he can do it if you let if you give him a chance yeah but he
35:23
hasn't gotten a chance he plays you know he's had under 10 minutes of ice time when he's been with
35:28
I I've said it before and I'll say it again they expect rookies to play Perfect hockey when their own veterans
35:33
play sloppy hockey a large a large portion of the time like how do you
35:39
expect a guy a veteran doesn't play Perfect hockey at all you expect a rookie to do that right what what that
35:46
doesn't make any sense at all I don't understand what the fear is so you lose
35:51
a game I mean is a is a rookie player really gonna cost you a game and if he does it's one game like for God's sakes
35:59
like it's yeah it's backwards they handle it backwards they they they give all they give the veterans all the Rope
36:05
they could possibly need yeah um and a lot of times they hang themselves with
36:11
it uh making turnovers all over the place you know paro's notorious for
36:16
turning the puck over Marian's done it a bunch certainly the defense uh with the amount of giveaways they've had are are
36:23
culpable and you know losing the team games Brandon kylo's hideous but you
36:29
know they haven't thought about scratching him but you know a rookie comes up and you know makes one bad play
36:34
through the neutral zone or doesn't back check hard enough or whatever and all of a sudden he's watching or he's benched
36:41
uh and and doesn't get enough time you have to let the guys grow and make mistakes uh and let them be creative if
36:48
they're creative players you know you let poshak be creative and you live with the turnovers you have to let other
36:54
creative players give way you have you do and and
37:00
they're not going to try things to make plays at the NHL level if they know as soon as they make a bad pass they're
37:07
gonna be benched for it yeah it just leads to guys just dumping the puck in and being stagnant and you're like well
37:13
why isn't he why isn't he being creative why isn't he making plays well because you're gonna bench his ass if he does
37:18
anything wrong right and especially a guy like lysel I mean that's like's game and he's gonna turn it over he's gonna
37:24
he's gonna be marov like I guarantee you they'll come up and turn the puck over but they might also be able to make good
37:30
passing plays and set guys up and make slot passes that lead to scoring chances
37:35
like you have to give them a chance to play their own game play the way that
37:41
they can play play the way that's gotten them to this point play the way that's allowed merkulov to be one of the best
37:47
players in the AHL like you got to give him a chance you got to give him a chance you do all right a poll this week
37:54
we had on X what is the Bruins biggest need the choice is Center scoring Winger
38:00
defense depth and a resounding win for scoring Winger at
38:06
69% uh Center at 27% and then defense depth at 4% and lo and behold it's 4%
38:13
but that's probably what they're going to get is defensive depth at the TR headline but uh yeah the scoring Winger
38:19
and I think people understand now that they just can't get a you know an elite
38:25
Center so they're they're like us they're like if you can't do that then get the next best thing yeah get a
38:31
really good scoring Winger yeah you know that's I don't know why this is difficult it really shouldn't be no it's
38:38
like they're they're at the point where you know it's the same with you know the Patriots or any team that's
38:45
struggling you have to go with the best player available so like if the best player available is a scoring Winger and
38:52
and and then it's a you know a second third line Center you go with the scoring Winger you Talent you need
38:58
high-end Talent that's what you're lacking so you don't just fill it to
39:04
fill it like go get the high-end talent and build and then build around the
39:09
high-end Talent supplement it with a really good checking Center which you have now um but you you you need the you
39:17
need the Winger you need the the scoring they need a really good left wing they need a really good left wing in that Top
39:23
Line you can't find do that stuff yeah right so when they're available like that's
39:30
what you can grab grab them I would almost get T Hall again if you can't do
39:35
that I would almost say you know what let's get Taylor Hall for the rest of the year sure um I I'd almost do that it
39:41
probably wouldn't cost you much and you could put him on the on the left on the left wing on the top line with with
39:47
panak you know or you could put him on the third line sure I mean it help potra or somebody I if you put potra with with
39:54
Hall something that that that would certainly help you know what I mean it's not a huge move but and I get that Hall
39:59
is you know is what he is now in his career but I mean it's better than what you have Fredick there yeah I mean Patra
40:06
with Hall and and brazo I think would be a pretty good line that would be that would be a sneaky good line I think yeah
40:12
um all right week ahead 1219 at Edmonton to finish up the trip then 1221 against
40:18
the Buffalo Sabers who have lost currently 11 in a row on the season and are a complete dumpster fire after a
40:25
drubbing in Montreal yeah and then 12:23 versus the Washington Capitals uh
40:32
who are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference so this is aough tough little stretch here and hopefully
40:37
they don't drop the Buffalo game but it is a tough little stretch um we appreciate everybody listening as always
40:44
and check us out on Thursday night after the Edmonton oers game for Bruins
