AHL: Lehigh Valley Phantoms Re-Sign Captain

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms made it to the Calder Cup Playoffs. They swept the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the first round, outscoring them 8-4. They then faced the Hershey Bears and had a 2-1 series lead before Hershey won games four and five to eliminate the Phantoms. The Phantoms are now bringing back their captain, Garrett Wilson, for his sixth season with Lehigh Valley. Wilson, in seven playoff games, had a goal, an assist, and 29 penalty minutes. In 63 regular-season games, he had 28 points on 14 goals and 14 assists. Wilson was a plus-three, had 134 penalty minutes, one power-play goal, and two shorthanded goals. He finished tied for seventh in points, sixth in goals, tied for 13th in assists, first in penalty minutes, and tied for second in shorthanded goals.

Garrett Wilson

Wilson was originally drafted 107th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers. In 700 career AHL games, he had 337 points on 152 goals and 185 assists. He is a career +29, has 1,274 penalty minutes, 35 power-play goals, and three shorthanded goals. In 27 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he has nine points on two goals and seven assists. He is a minus-two, has 63 penalty minutes, and one power-play goal. In 84 career NHL games, he has eight points on two goals and six assists. He is a minus-four and has 42 penalty minutes.
