The Adirondack Thunder continued shaking up their roster on Wednesday as they traded forward Patrick Polino to the Allen Americans in exchange for forward Easton Brodzinski. This comes just a day after the Thunder suspended Polino.

What This Means For The Thunder

There’s no question that Polino wouldn’t see any more time in a Thunder uniform after being suspended. Still, it’s nice to see Adirondack get a solid return in exchange for the Buffalo, NY native.

“That will be decided soon”

Brodzinski,28, is in his third season in the ECHL as he’s spent time with the Jacksonville Icemen and Allen Americans. In 136 games, he has 41 goals and 41 assists for 82 points and 144 PIMs. The Blaine, Minnesota native, brings a big offensive upside and has no problem throwing the body around or dropping the gloves. Think of him as a better version of Shaw Boomhower.

What This Means for the Americans

There’s no doubt the Allen Americans needed a scorer, and that’s exactly what Patrick Polino will bring them. Polino had three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 26 games with the Thunder before being traded to Allen. The 29-year-old center is coming off back-to-back 23-goal seasons and should help an Allen team with the least goals in the Mountain Division.

“We are excited to welcome Patrick Polino and his family to Allen,” noted Americans Head Coach B.J. Adams. “He has a proven track record of success in this league. He gives us more experience up front and provides us with more depth at Center. He plays in all situations and can also play the wing.”

The Buffalo, NY, native is in his fourth professional season, as he’s put up 57 goals and 89 assists for 146 points in 196 ECHL games. He’s put up five goals and four assists for nine points in 36 games at the AHL level. Prior to going pro, he played four years at RPI, where he put up 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 131 games.
