
This morning, Aaron Dell announced his retirement from hockey. He spent three seasons in the ECHL, eight seasons in the AHL, and seven seasons in the NHL. This past season, he played in ten games for the San Jose Barracuda, going 3-3-3 with a 3.73 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. In 13 games in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder, he went 6-6-1 with a 2.91 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Dell attended the University of North Dakota for three seasons, appearing in 78 games, going 49-20-5 with nine shutouts. He then played in the CHL with the Allen Americans, playing in 44 games. He went 22-11-6 with a 2.30 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage, and three shutouts. In 54 ECHL games, he went 33-14-2-4 with a 2.48 goals against average and three shutouts. In three Kelly Cup Playoff games, he went 1-1-1-0 with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.
Dell, in his eight AHL seasons, played for the Barracuda on three stints, the Ontario Reign, the Rochester Americans, the Binghamton Devils, the Worcester Sharks, and the Abbotsford Heat. In 155 games, he went 70-57-17 with a 2.71 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage, and 11 shutouts. In 17 Calder Cup Playoff games, he went 6-11-0 with a 3.51 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage.
Dell played in 130 career NHL games, spending time with the San Jose Sharks on two stints, the New Jersey Devils, and the Buffalo Sabres. He went 50-50-13 with a 2.92 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage, and five shutouts. In four Stanley Cup Playoff games, he went 0-1-0 with a .891 save percentage and a 3.08 goals-against average.
