As of this morning (Feb. 17), forward Adam Beckman has been recalled to the Minnesota Wild.
For those keeping tabs on the franchise, it has been speculated by many that Beckman or teammate Sammy Walker were going to be recalled to help fix some of the Wild’s recent wounds. Check out the recent article from Patrick Hoffman to learn more about what’s happening in Minnesota.
Beckman was a third-round (75th overall) draft pick by the Wild in 2019. Since then, his time has been split between Iowa and Minnesota. Earlier this season, Beckman played six games in Minnesota, averaging 10 minutes of ice time per game and zero points. Tonight’s game versus the Dallas Stars will be Beckman’s tenth NHL game.
The forward has been a strong player for the Iowa Wild with 27 points in 43 games (0.627 points per game). This transaction comes at an interesting time in Beckman’s season, as he has seven of those points in his last ten games and recently netted a hat trick in Iowa’s 5-6 loss against the Chicago Wolves (Feb. 11). Beckman is currently top of the Iowa Wild in shots on goal (155) and fourth in the AHL.
Beckman and the Minnesota Wild face the Dallas Stars tonight (Feb. 17) as they look to secure a playoff spot in the western conference.
