Adirondack Thunder Sign Nico Blachman

The Adirondack Thunder have announced that they have signed forward Nico Blachman for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Blachman is exactly what this Thunder team has been missing ever since Yanick Turcotte went overseas, and Zach Walker has yet to make his season debut after getting hurt in the preseason. Blachman has proved that he has no problem throwing his weight around or dropping the gloves. The 25-year-old forward will be joining his seventh team since joining the league during the 2020-21 season, as he’s already spent time with the Florida Everblades, South Carolina Stingrays, Allen Americans, Savannah Ghost Pirates, Norfolk Admirals, and Kalamazoo Wings. In 77 ECHL games, he has put up six goals and seven assists for 13 points, along with a whopping 392 penalty minutes; 265 of those came last year as he led the ECHL in penalty minutes while only playing in 43 games; he had one goal in six games with the K-Wings before being released on November 11th. Since being released from Kalamazoo, Blachman has played four games with the Laval Petroliers in the LNAH.

Blachman is expected to be in the Thunder lineup this evening as Brycen Martin in his first game since November 12th, got hurt. When asked if it was a day-to-day injury for Martin, head coach Pete MacArthur said, “I don’t think so, but I’m not 100% sure”.
