AHL: Bakersfield Condors Goalie Signs Overseas

There have been rumors for the last few days that Condors goalie Olivier Rodrigue is signing overseas with Barys Astana of the KHL. The 25-year-old goalie appeared in 41 games this past season for Bakersfield, going 18-16-8 with a 3.12 goals-against average, a .897 save percentage, and a shutout. He also appeared in two games for the Edmonton Oilers, going 0-1-0 with a 3.10 goals-against average and a .862 save percentage.

Olivier Rodrigue

Rodrigue spent four seasons in the QMJHL, three with the Drummondville Voltigeurs and one with the Moncton Wildcats. In his first season, he played in 41 games, going 14-20-5. He posted a 3.60 goals-against average, an .878 save percentage, and a shutout. In his second season with the Voltigeurs, he played in 53 games, going 31-16-3. He posted a 2.54 goals-against average, a .903 save percentage, and three shutouts. Rodrigue’s final season with the Voltigeurs, as he played in 48 games. He posted 35-9-3 with a 2.43 goals-against average, a .902 save percentage, and three shutouts. In his lone season with the Wildcats, he appeared in 39 games, going 31-7-1. He posted a 2.32 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage, and six shutouts. In 2020-21, he played in the ICEHL with the Graz99ers. He appeared in 23 games, going 10-10-0 with a 3.11 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.

Olivier Rodrigue also played for the Condors that season, appearing in 11 games, going 4-5-0. He posted a 2.99 goals-against average, a .894 save percentage, and a shutout. In his lone playoff game, he stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced. In 2021-22, he played in 13 games for the Condors, going 6-5-3. He posted a 3.09 goals-against average and an .866 save percentage. Rodrigue also played in 15 games in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder, going 7-7-1. He posted a 3.57 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. In 2022-23, he played in 29 games for Bakersfield, going 14-14-1. He posted a 2.77 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. Rodrigue in 2023-24 played in 37 games, going 19-12-5 with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. In his lone playoff game that season, he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced.
