The Charlotte Checkers today signed forward Robert Mastrosimone to an AHL deal for the 2025-26 season. Mastrosimone spent last season with the Toronto Marlies, playing in 50 games. The 24-year-old had a game-winning goal and had 22 penalty minutes. In two Calder Cup Playoff games, he had two points. He was a minus-one with two penalty minutes.

Mastrosimone spent three seasons with Boston University in the NCAA. In 83 games, he had 50 points on 21 goals and 29 assists. He was a plus-three with three power-play goals, three game-winning goals, and a shorthanded goal; he also had 44 penalty minutes. He was held pointless in his only NCAA Tournament game of his collegiate career. In 2022-23, he transferred to Arizona State University, where in 38 games he recorded 42 points on 11 goals and 31 assists. He was a plus-four with four power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and a shorthanded goal; he also had 31 penalty minutes. In 2023-24, he joined the Toronto Marlies. In 45 games, he had 15 points on four goals and 11 assists. He was a plus-two with 41 penalty minutes. In three playoff games that year, he was a minus-one.
