AHL: Emilio Pettersen Signs Overseas

The Texas Stars have spent this offseason adding as well as bringing back familiar faces. Today, a familiar face announced he is leaving. Forward Emilio Pettersen is signing with Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League. This past season in 70 games for the Stars, he recorded 29 points on nine goals and 20 assists. He was minus-ten with a power-play goal, two shorthanded goals, a game-winning goal, and 29 penalty minutes. In 14 Calder Cup Playoff games, he had a goal and two assists. He was a minus-four with eight penalty minutes. He also played for Norway in international play. In five games, he had six points on a goal and five assists. He was a plus-three and didn’t record a penalty minute.

Pettersen has spent six seasons in the AHL playing in 258 games between the Stars, Calgary Wranglers, and Stockton Heat. He had 151 points on 58 goals and 93 assists. He was a +14 with 14 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, five game-winning goals, and 131 penalty minutes. In 37 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he has 13 points on five goals and eight assists. He was a minus-five with two game-winning goals and 16 penalty minutes.
