The Colorado Eagles defenseman John Ludvig is signing overseas with HC Dynamo Pardubice of Czechia. In 31 games for the Eagles, he had 12 points on a goal and 11 assists. He was a plus-five with 20 penalty minutes. He played in eight games with the Colorado Avalanche, recording two assists. Ludvig was a minus-four with six penalty minutes. He also played in nine games in the Calder Cup Playoffs, recording four points on two goals and two assists. He was a plus-one with a game-winning goal and ten penalty minutes.

Ludvig played three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winterhawks. In 169 games, he had 87 points on 24 goals and 63 assists. He was a +95 with 177 penalty minutes. He then joined the Syracuse Crunch, where he spent one season appearing in 13 games, recording eight points on two goals and six assists. Ludvig was a plus-four with two game-winning goals and 13 penalty minutes. He then joined the Charlotte Checkers, where he spent two seasons. He appeared in 57 games, recording 17 points on three goals and 14 assists. Ludvig was a +17 with 72 penalty minutes.

He then joined the Penguins organization, playing in four games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He was held pointless as well as a minus-two with two penalty minutes. Ludvig also played in 33 games for the Penguins, recording five points on three goals and two assists. He was a -12 with a game-winning goal and 47 penalty minutes. In 105 AHL games, he had 37 points on six goals and 31 assists. He was a +24 with two game-winning goals and 107 penalty minutes. In 19 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he had six points on two goals and four assists. He was a minus-three with a game-winning goal and 14 penalty minutes.
