
The Ontario Reign see another player from their 2024-25 roster sign overseas. This morning, it became official that forward Charles Hudon was signing overseas. Now defenseman Joseph Cecconi is signing with Avangard Omsk of the KHL. Cecconi played in 23 games with the Reign, recording four assists. He was even in plus/minus and had ten penalty minutes. Cecconi also appeared in 51 games for the Iowa Wild, recording 13 points on two goals and 11 assists. He was a plus-five with 41 penalty minutes. In two Calder Cup Playoff games with the Reign, he was held pointless and had two penalty minutes.

Cecconi went to the University of Michigan, where in 225 games recorded 113 points on 15 goals and 98 assists. He was a plus-three with seven power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 151 penalty minutes. The Dallas Stars drafted Cecconi 133rd overall. He appeared in 176 games for the Texas Stars, recording 33 points on four goals and 29 assists. He was a -31 with 106 penalty minutes. Cecconi then spent two seasons with the Rochester Americans, appearing in 99 games. He had 21 points on four goals and 17 assists. He was a plus-one with a game-winning goal and 80 penalty minutes.
Cecconi played in 349 career AHL games, recording 71 points on ten goals and 61 assists. He was a -25 with a game-winning goal, and 237 penalty minutes. In 23 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he had eight points on three goals and five assists. he was a plus-eight with a game-winning goal and 24 penalty minutes.
