
The Hershey Bears are continuing to lose players this offseason. This time, it’s forward Luke Philp who is signing overseas with Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League. In 58 games for Hershey this past season, he had 30 points, including ten goals and 20 assists. He was a -14 with a power-play goal and 18 penalty minutes. Philp played in eight Calder Cup Playoff games for the Bears, recording four points on a goal and an assist. He was a plus-one with four penalty minutes.

Philp’s first three seasons in the AHL were spent with the Stockton Heat. In 148 games, he had 92 points on 48 goals and 44 assists. He was a +25 with 13 power-play goals, two game-winning goals, ten game-winning goals, and 44 penalty minutes. Philp then joined the Rockford IceHogs for two seasons, during which he scored 59 points in 75 games, including 31 goals and 28 assists. He was a +20 with 11 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, three game-winning goals, and 35 penalty minutes. Philp also appeared in three games for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022-23, recording an assist. He was even in plus/minus and two penalty minutes. In 27 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he has 13 points on three goals and ten assists. He was a plus-four with a power-play goal and four penalty minutes.
