The Manitoba Moose announced today that they’ve reassigned goaltender Thomas Milic to the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals while recalling goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis to the Moose.
The Moose have had a tough time winning games this season, and that is no fault of the goaltenders. However, the move hopes to have Milic build his confidence while DiVincentiis gets more AHL experience.
Milic, 21, was drafted 151st overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. Milic has split the last two seasons between the ECHL and AHL, appearing in 33 games for the Moose last season with a 2.72 goals-against average (GAA) and a .900 save percentage (SV%). He complimented his numbers with a win-loss record of 19-9-2. Across 18 games for Norfolk, Milic posted a 2.45 GAA and a .908 SV% and posted a win-loss record of 11-3-2.
This season, his numbers are down as he’s posted a 3.56 GAA and a .870 SV% with a 4-10-3 win-loss record on a Moose team that sits in the basement.
DiVincentiis, 20, was drafted 207th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He started the season with the Moose, appearing in five games and posting a 2.24 GAA and a .930 SV%, a promising stat line for a goaltender who just transitioned from junior to professional hockey. His numbers in Norfolk are nothing short of impressive as he’s posted a 2.97 GAA and a .896 SV%, but it’s his win-loss record of 15-5-0 across 20 games that stands out.
The Moose are on the road for three games as they face the Chicago Wolves twice and the Milwaukee Admirals once. They return home for a six-game home stand on February 8th.
