AHL: Milwaukee Admirals Sign Three Free-Agents

The Milwaukee Admirals made some signings this afternoon, signing a forward, two defenseman, and a goalie. The Admirals signed forward Daniel Carr to a two-year AHL contract. They signed defenseman Zack Hayes and Chad Nychuk to one-year AHL contracts. Finally, they signed goalie T.J. Semptimphelter to a one-year two-way contract.

Daniel Carr

Carr spent the last five seasons in the NL playing with HC Lugano. In 156 games, he recorded 132 points on 64 goals and 68 assists. Carr was a +46 with 150 penalty minutes. Before signing elsewhere, he played in 117 career NHL games, recording 37 points on 16 goals and 21 assists. He was a minus-two with four power-play points. In 238 career AHL games, he’s recorded 211 points on 104 goals and 107 assists. He is a +67 with 28 power-play goals and two shorthanded goals.

Zack Hayes

Hayes last season in 46 games with the Laval Rocket recorded eight points on two goals and six assists. He was a plus-seven with 51 penalty minutes. In 178 career AHL games, he has 33 points on nine goals and 24 assists. He is a career +32 with 172 penalty minutes and one game-winning goal. In three NHL games, he hasn’t recorded a point and is a minus-two.

Chad Nychuk

Nychuk returns to the Admirals, where in 27 games last season, he had four assists. He was a plus-four with 18 penalty minutes. In 53 career AHL games, he has 12 points on two goals and ten assists. He is a plus-six and has 30 penalty minutes.

T.J. Semptimphelter

Semptimphelter played college hockey at Northeastern University in 2021-22 in eight games, he went 4-3-0 with a 2.05 goals-against average, and a .934 save percentage. He transferred to Arizona State University, where in two seasons he’s made 62 appearances, going 31-26-4 with a 2.70 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage, and eight shutouts. In 2024-25, he played at the University of North Dakota. In 31 games, he went 18-11-2 with a 2.64 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage, and a shutout. Semptimphelter then joined the Bridgeport Islanders, where in one game he took the loss, giving up four goals on 22 shots.
