AHL: Ontario Reign Sign Hudson Schandor

The Ontario Reign yesterday signed forward Hudson Schandor, who played last season at the University of Connecticut. The signing was announced just before news broke that forward Bryce Brodzinski signed with the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL. Schandor, this past season, played in 37 games with the Huskies. He had 41 points on ten goals and 31 assists. He was a +21 with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, two game-winning goals, and 12 penalty minutes.

Schandor spent five seasons at UConn. In his first season, he played in 22 games, recording 14 points on six goals and eight assists. He was a plus-two with two power-play goals, two game-winning goals, and ten penalty minutes. In year two, he played in 28 games, recording 18 points on five goals and 13 assists. He was a plus-four with two game-winning goals and 12 penalty minutes. In year three, he played in 42 games, recording 38 points on 12 goals and 26 assists. He was a plus-ten with two power-play goals, five game-winning goals, and eight penalty minutes.

In his fourth season, he again played in 42 games, recording 21 points on five goals and 16 assists. He was a plus-nine with a power-play goal, a game-winning goal, and 31 penalty minutes. Schandor spent the final two seasons at UConn as their captain. He finished his collegiate career playing in 170 games, recording 132 points on 38 goals and 94 assists. Schandor was a +46 with eight power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, 12 game-winning goals, and 73 penalty minutes.
