The Ontario Reign have been building their 2024-25 season roster with new and returning faces being signed. Today, Aug. 22, the Reign, AHL affiliate of the LA Kings, announced that they have signed rookie forward Bryce Brodzinski.
About Brodzinski
Coming out of his collegiate career within the NCAA Big Ten Conference, the 24-year-old from Blaine, Minnesota, will be making his professional debut with the Reign. The six-foot, right-wing forward spent the last five seasons for the University of Minnesota. During the 2023-24 season, Brodzinski served as the captain of his home state’s team. He actively participated in 39 games, contributing a total of 36 points, which included 14 goals and 22 assists for the Gophers. This was his career-high season with 36 points and a +21 rating.
Brodzinski commenced his NCAA career in the 2019-20 season for the Gophers, where he played in 37 games and accumulated seven goals and five assists. His highest goal scoring campaign was in the 2022-23 season, where he scored 19 goals from 40 games, while contributing 12 assists. During that season, he helped his team earn a Big Ten Regular Season title and reach a 23rd Frozen Four appearance. After five seasons with the University of Minnesota, the 205 pound forward contributed 60 goals and 59 assists for 119 points from 185 game appearances.
Originally a 7th round, 196 overall, 2019 NHL Draft pick by the Philadelphia Flyers, Brodzinski is the all-time leader in games played in University of Minnesota history.
His Amateur Career
During the 2018-19 season, the season prior to joining NCAA hockey, Brodzinski played for Blaine High of USHS-MN as captain. He participated in 23 games for his hometown team, where he contributed 32 goals and 44 assists for 76 points. After his final campaign with his high school team, Brodzinski was recognized with the Mr. Hockey Award as the top senior player in the state. During that season, he made his first high tiered junior appearance in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Omaha Lancers. For his first and only season in the USHL, Brodzinski participated in 19 games, where he contributed seven goals and ten assists.
