The Checkers took game one of the best-of-seven series 5-1 last night. They improved to an impressive 7-1-1 in the Calder Cup playoffs, averaging 3.6 goals per game while allowing 16 1.8 goals per game. Kaapo Kahkonen is posting a 1.77 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage, and a shutout. He stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in game one.

Laval Rocket News & Notes:

The Rocket dropped game one last night at home to start the Eastern Conference Finals. They are 6-4-0 in the Calder Cup playoffs, averaging 3.1 goals per game while allowing 2.6 goals per game. Cayden Primeau is posting a 2.42 goals-against average a .905 save percentage, and a shutout. He stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced in last night’s loss. Jacob Fowler is posting a 2.46 goals-against average, a .903 save percentage, and a shutout.
