The Penguins look to avoid being swept in the first round of the playoffs. Both goalies saw time in Wednesday’s loss as Joel Blomqvist allowed three goals on 26 shots and Tyler Gauthier allowed two goals on seven shots.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms News & Notes:

The Phantoms came ready to go in game one, winning 5-2. Parker Gahagen stopped 28 of the 30 Penguins shots he faced.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

Gabe Klassen and Avery Hayes each scored a goal in the first game. Four players had assists. Six players all have one point. Three Penguins were plus-one after the first game.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Alex Bump scored two goals in game one to lead the Phantoms. Emil Andrae and Jett Luchanko each added two assists. Bump, Andrae, Luchanko, and Olle Lycksell all lead with two points after game one. Ethan Samson led the team with a plus-three.
