
The Providence Bruins this season finished 41-23-5-3 with 90 points. They faced the Springfield Thunderbirds in the first round of the playoffs. After dropping the first game, they took the next two in the best-of-three series. In the Atlanta Division Semifinals, after going down 2-0, they took the next two to force a winner-take-all game five, but they ultimately lost 5-2 to the Charlotte Checkers. To start the offseason today, they signed 24-year-old winger Brooklyn Kalmikov to a one-year AHL contract. Kalmikov played last season with the Maine Mariners in the ECHL. He played in 66 games with the Mariners in which he recorded 56 points on 22 goals and 34 assists. Kalmikov was a -26 with 18 penalty minutes.

Kalmikov in 2022-23 played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in three games, being held pointless and was a minus-two. He also played in 66 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, in which he had 52 points on 23 goals and 29 assists. Kalmikov was a -16 and had 22 penalty minutes. In 2023-24, with the Mariners in 68 games, he had 49 points on 21 goals and 28 assists. He was a minus-ten and had ten penalty minutes. In seven playoff games that season, he had two points on a goal and an assist. He was a minus-seven and had two penalty minutes.
