AHL: Providence Bruins Trade 24-Year-Old to Cleveland

The Providence Bruins are third in the Atlantic Division in the AHL. The Cleveland Monsters meanwhile sit in fourth in the North Division. The Bruins are five points back of first place while Cleveland is 11 points back of first place. Today the two teams agreed to a trade that sends 24-year-old defenseman Drew Bavaro being loaned to Cleveland. The Bruins are acquiring 28-year-old center Jake Gaudet from Cleveland.

Drew Bavaro

Bavaro has played in 27 games with Providence over two seasons recording three points all on assists. Those three assists have come this season in 20 games. Bavaro has played in two games with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL as well recording a goal. He played college hockey at Bentley and Notre Dame. At Bentley, he played in 52 games recording 39 points on 11 goals and 31 assists. At Notre Dame, he played in 72 games recording 39 points on 16 goals and 23 assists. 

Jake Gaudet

Gaudet has played in 158 AHL games recording 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists. This season in 41 games he has six points on a goal and five assists. Gaudet has played in 16 ECHL games as well recording eight points on four goals and four assists. He spent four seasons at UMass playing in 124 games recording 53 points on 20 goals and 33 assists.
