
The Ontario Reign see another player sign overseas for the 2025-26 season. This time, it’s defenseman Reilly Walsh who is heading to the KHL to play for Barys Astana. The 26-year-old defenseman played in 70 games for the Reign this past season, recording 32 points on six goals and 26 assists. He was a -11 with three power-play goals and 39 penalty minutes.

Walsh played college hockey at Harvard University. In 96 games, he had 78 points on 27 goals and 51 assists. He was a plus-three with 36 penalty minutes. He then joined the Binghamton Devils in 2020-21. In 33 games, he had 15 points on five goals and ten assists. He was a minus-five with two power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 12 penalty minutes. The following season, he made his NHL debut, appearing in one game with the New Jersey Devils. He recorded an assist. In 70 games with the Utica Comets, he had 43 points on nine goals and 34 assists. He was a +12 with two power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and 16 penalty minutes.
In 2022-23, he played in 71 games for the Comets, recording 41 points on nine goals and 32 assists. He was a minus-six with five power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 40 penalty minutes. He then joined the Providence Bruins for the 2023-24 season. In 60 games, he had 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. He was a -17 with four power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 14 penalty minutes. In 304 career AHL games, he has 159 points on 38 goals and 121 assists. He is a -27 with 16 power-play goals, seven game-winning goals, and 121 penalty minutes. In 13 Calder Cup Playoff games, he had nine points on four goals and five assists. he was a plus-one with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal.
