AHL: Rocco Grimaldi Signs Overseas

After being rumored for the past few days, it is now official as Rocco Grimaldi is signing overseas for the 2025-26 season as he will play with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL. Grimaldi, a ten-year AHL vet, played for the Cleveland Monsters this past season. In 66 games, he had 58 points on 17 goals and 41 assists. He was a minus-six with six power-play goals, three game-winning goals, and 20 penalty minutes. Grimaldi finished second on the Monsters in points, fourth in goals, and first in assists.

Grimaldi spent three seasons at the University of North Dakota. In 86 games, he had 77 points on 31 goals and 46 assists. He was a +22 with 68 penalty minutes. Grimaldi would go on to play in 203 career NHL playing for the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, and Nashville Predators. He had 67 points on 30 goals and 37 assists. Grimaldi was a minus-one with a shorthanded goal, three game-winning goals, and 34 penalty minutes.

He also played in 499 career AHL games for the San Antonio Rampage on two separate stints, Portland Pirates, Milwaukee Admirals, San Diego Gulls, Rockford IceHogs, Chicago Wolves, and Monsters. He had 428 points on 192 goals and 236 assists. Grimaldi was a -55 with 61 power-play goals, six shorthanded goals, 36 game-winning goals, and 236 penalty minutes. In 25 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he had 13 points on four goals and nine assists. He was a -20 with a power-play goal, a game-winning goal, and ten penalty minutes.
