AHL: Rochester American Sign A Forward and Re-Sign A Defenseman

The Rochester Americans retained one of their defenseman and signed a forward this afternoon. Rochester signed forward Trevor Kuntar and re-signed Peter Tischke. Both signed one-year AHL deals. Kuntar spent last season with the Providence Bruins, where in 54 games he had 12 points on three goals and nine assists. He was a minus-seven with 76 penalty minutes. In three Calder Cup Playoff games, he had an assist, was a minus-one, and had four penalty minutes. Tische played in 54 games with the Jacksonville Icemen, recording 13 points on three goals and ten assists. He was a +21 with a game-winning goal and 27 penalty minutes.

Trevor Kuntar

Kuntar spent three seasons at Boston College, playing in 93 games, recording 59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists. He was a plus-nine with eight power-play goals, six game-winning goals, and 98 penalty minutes. Trevor Kuntar joined Providence in 2023-24. In 70 games, he recorded 20 points on ten goals and ten assists. He was even in plus/minus with a power-play goal, a shorthanded goal, a game-winning goal, and 113 penalty minutes.

Peter Tischke

Tischke played college hockey at the University of Wisconsin. In four seasons, he played in 135 career games, recording 34 points on eight goals and 26 assists. He was a minus-two with three game-winning goals and 153 penalty minutes. In 78 games in the AHL, he has 11 points on three goals and eight assists. He is a minus-one with 57 penalty minutes. In four seasons in the ECHL, he’s played in 149 games, recording 38 points on nine goals and 29 assists. He was a +37 with 118 penalty minutes.
