AHL: Rockford IceHogs Re-Sign Captain to a two-year deal

The Rockford IceHogs this season went 31-33-6-2 with 70 points. They made the Calder Cup Playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. The IceHogs swept the Chicago Wolves in the first round but then lost in the Central Division Semifinals to the Milwaukee Admirals. Rockford took a 2-0 series lead; however, the Admirals responded by winning three straight games to advance. The IceHogs today re-signed their captain, Brett Seney, to a two-year AHL contract through 2026-27. Seney this season in 58 games had 39 points on ten goals and 29 assists. He was a minus-five and had 59 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he had three points on a goal and two assists. Seney was a plus-five.

The New Jersey Devils drafted Seney with the 157th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. “He has played 66 NHL games and recorded 14 points, including six goals and eight assists. He’s a -17 with a power-play point. In 376 career AHL games, he has 296 points on 103 goals and 193 assists. He’s a career -34 with 409 penalty minutes. Over three seasons with Rockford, he played 185 games and recorded 156 points with 56 goals and 100 assists. He’s a minus-eight with 176 penalty minutes.
