The Syracuse Crunch today signed forward Brendan Furry to a one-year deal. Furry played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this past season, which was his third season with the Phantoms. In 61 games, he had 19 points on ten goals and nine assists. He was even in plus/minus with 30 penalty minutes, a power-play goal, five shorthanded goals, and three game-winning goals.

The 6-1, 205 lbs forward played his college hockey at Minnesota State University, where in 111 games with the Mavericks he had 85 points on 27 goals and 58 assists. He was a +46 with 54 penalty minutes. In his three seasons with the Mavericks, he made the NCAA Tournament, making the Frozen Four in his first two seasons, and in the second season, they reached the National Championship but lost. Following the 2022-23 season, he signed with the Phantoms. He played in three games, recording three points on a goal and two assists. In three playoff games that season, he was held pointless. In 2023-24, he played in 57 games, recording 18 points on six goals and 12 assists. He was a plus-one and had 43 penalty minutes. In six playoff games, he had two assists, finished as a minus-three, and had 12 penalty minutes.
