The Winnipeg Jets reassigned goaltender Thomas Milic to the Manitoba Moose from the organization’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.
The 21-year-old Coquitlam, B.C. product has played 18 games for the Moose this season with a 5-10-2 record, complemented by a 3.45 goals-against average (GAA) and a .875 save percentage (SV%). In his 51 career AHL games, Milic boasts a 24-19-4 record with a 2.99 GAA and a .891 SV% and one shutout.
Milic has appeared in 18 ECHL games with Norfolk this season, where he has a 11-5-1 record. His 1.82 GAA and .935 SV% is a good confidence booster for Milic heading into another run with the Moose. Milic has a 22-8-4 career record with the Admirals with a 2.13 GAA and a .922 SV%.
Milic, a 2023 fifth-round draft selection, was picked by the Winnipeg Jets at 151st overall. Prior to Milic turning pro in 2023-24, he enjoyed a successful WHL career with the Seattle Thunderbirds, where he finished his time in Seattle with a Memorial Cup Finals appearance.
In his four seasons with the Thunderbirds, Milic posted a 60-23-5 record with a 2.35 GAA and a .917 SV%. Milic also backstopped Team Canada to a World Junior Championship U20 Gold Medal with a dominant performance. His 5-0-0 record across six games was heightened by his 1.76 GAA and a .932 SV%.
As the Moose look at the stretch run of their season, bringing Milic back up covers Chris Driedgers’ call-up to the Winnipeg Jets. It is unknown at the time of writing when Milic will get his first start back with the Moose.
