
The Toronto Marlies had an active day yesterday as they signed a goalie and two forwards. This morning, they added two more forwards. First, they signed Gunnarwolfe Fontaine to a one-year AHL contract. Fontaine played in five games for the Iowa Wild last season. He didn’t record a point but finished as a plus-one. The other signing was Ben King who they signed also to a one-year AHL contract. King last season played in 64 games for the Manitoba Moose. He recorded 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists. He was a -18 with a power-play goal, a game-winning goal, and 53 penalty minutes.

Gunnarwolfe Fontaine
Fontaine before joining the Wild spent five seasons in college hockey. In his first four seasons, he was with Northeastern University, where he played in 131 games, recording 97 points on 32 goals and 65 assists. He was a minus-two and had 75 penalty minutes. He then transferred to Ohio State University where he spent last season before Iowa. In 40 games he recorded 40 points on 17 goals and 23 assists. He was a plus-six and had six penalty minutes.
Ben King
King prior to joining the Moose played in the San Diego Gulls of the AHL in 2023-24. In 61 games he recorded 30 points on 15 goals and 15 assists. He was a minus-five with three power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 20 penalty minutes. Before the AHL he spent seven seasons in the WHL, three with the Swift Current Broncos and four with the Red Deer Rebels. In 236 games he had 240 points on 106 goals and 134 assists. He was a plus-nine and had 177 penalty minutes.
