AHL: Two-Time Calder Cup Champion Heads Overseas

The Hershey Bears forward Mike Vecchione will join his former Hershey teammate Pierrick Dube with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL. In 68 games this past season, he recorded 39 points on 19 goals and 20 assists. He was a plus-seven with seven power-play goals, six game-winning goals, and 16 penalty minutes. In eight Calder Cup Playoff games, he had four points on three goals and an assist. He was a plus-two with six penalty minutes.

Vecchione has played in 473 career AHL games with the Bears, Colorado Eagles, San Antonio Rampage, and Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He’s recorded 300 points on 135 goals and 165 assists. He is a +17 with 41 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, 29 game-winning goals, and 196 penalty minutes. In 65 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he had 31 points on 13 goals and 18 assists. He was a plus-one with a power-play goal, three game-winning goals, and 26 penalty minutes. In back-to-back Calder Cup Championships with the Bears, he played in 40 games, recording 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists. He was a plus-two with a power-play goal, three game-winning goals, and 16 penalty minutes. In three career NHL games, he didn’t record a point and was a minus-two.
