On January 8th, 2025, the American Hockey League announced that they have chosen forward Emil Bemström to represent the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic, held in Coachella Valley, CA.

Bemström is in his first season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and has notched 12 goals and 16 assists. He is tied for first in goals on the team and is second in assists. Bemström was acquired in a trade in February 2024 with the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward Alex Nylander and a conditional 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

Bemström was selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 204 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets, tallying 31 goals and 38 assists. When Bemström was traded last February, he dressed for 24 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, notching three goals and two assists. Bemström is no stranger to the AHL, having played 33 games for the Cleveland Monsters during his time with Columbus, where he gathered 26 goals and 21 assists.

Bemström is a leader on and off the ice and teaches the younger players what he knows. He is a shifty player when it comes to scoring opportunities. He has the ability to find the pucks and shoot short-range.
