AHL: Zach Sanford Signs Overseas

This morning, it was announced that forward Zach Sanford signed with HC Lugano of NL. Sanford, this past season, played in 70 games for the Rockford IceHogs. He had 43 points on 19 goals and 24 assists. He was a minus-four with five power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, five game-winning goals, and 60 penalty minutes. In seven Calder Cup Playoff games, he had eight points on three goals and five assists. He was a plus-six with a power-play goal, a shorthanded goal, and four penalty minutes.

Zach Sanford

Sanford, in two seasons at Boston College, played in 79 games, recording 63 points on 20 goals and 43 assists. He was a +37 with 74 penalty minutes. Sanford would play in 196 games over seven seasons. He’s played for the IceHogs, Tucson Roadrunners, Milwaukee Admirals, San Antonio Rampage, and Hershey Bears. He recorded 110 points on 54 goals and 56 assists. Sanford was a -26 with 14 power-play goals, six shorthanded goals, ten game-winning goals, and 170 penalty minutes. In 29 Calder Cup Playoff games, he had 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists. He was minus-four with four power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and 14 penalty minutes.

Sanford also played in 334 career NHL games, spending time with the Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes, and Chicago Blackhawks. He recorded 104 points on 49 goals and 55 assists. He was a minus-eight with five power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, 11 game-winning goals, and 144 penalty minutes. Sanford also played in 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games, recording eight points on two goals and six assists. He was a plus-two with a power-play goal and 17 penalty minutes. Sanford was a part of the Stanley Cup Blues team in 2019, where he slid into the lineup playing in eight games, recording four points on a goal and three assists. He was a plus-four.
