An Interview with the ECHL Sales Rookie of the Year

Lindsay Plymale of the Cincinnati Cyclones was named the ECHL Sales Rookie of the Year at this summer’s ECHL League Meetings, one of nine awards the Cyclones would bring home. She currently works as an Account Executive for the Cincinnati Cyclones at the Heritage Bank Center in downtown Cincinnati. Her job involves promoting attendance through selling season, group, and suite tickets and building client relationships through incoming and outgoing calls. Lindsay is passionate about making a positive impact within the Cyclones organization and the Cincinnati community, as she shows this through her dedicated work.

There are new opportunities for the organization to increase their sales and fan base, especially with the Toronto Maple Leafs taking over as the Cyclones’ NHL affiliate last week.

Lindsay recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and a minor in Marketing. During her time at the university, she interned at various companies, including the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, showcasing her love for sports and improving the fan experience. She has always been a sports enthusiast, with her love for hockey stemming from a young age when she attended Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL) games. While in college, she also served as an Event Planner for the UC Women’s Club Soccer team, and her varied sports-related experiences led her to her current position with the Cyclones. She was immediately drawn to the Cyclones organization due to their welcoming nature and the convenience of being located in Cincinnati, immediately knowing this was a fit for her.

During her time with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Lindsay has excelled in her role within a growing organization that broke their attendance record last season at 243,350 fans attended.”

Plymale’s Thoughts on Winning the Sales Rookie Of the Year

Lindsay has also developed favorites for many of the themed nights with the Cyclones, enjoying “Shutout the Hate” and “Pups N Pucks.” Her favorite jersey is the “Scooby Doo” jersey from Pups N Pucks Night, where fans can bring their pet dogs for an extra $5 per pup. She mentioned that these themed nights attract a wide array of fans, increasing ticket sales and creating memorable experiences for the community. Concluding the interview, Lindsay noted that she is excited to continue her career with the Cyclones and is looking forward to another great season of hockey beginning in October.
