Anthony Duclair traded to the San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks announced a trade with the Florida Panthers. The Sharks received winger Anthony Duclair while center Steven Lorentz and a 2025 5th-round pick were sent to the Panthers.

Duclair (27) missed most of the season after undergoing Achilles surgery during offseason training last summer. He finished with two goals and nine points in 20 regular season games but also chipped in four goals and seven assists in 20 playoff games in the Panthers’ Stanley Cup run.

The former 30-goal scorer has one more season left on his 3-year $9 million contract and should provide some much-needed scoring offense to the Sharks that finished 25th in scoring.

Stephen Lorentz (27) solidified himself as the Sharks 4th line center last season after coming over in part of the Brent Burns trade package from the Carolina Hurricanes. Lorentz had a career-high in games player (80), goals (10), assists (9), and points (19) for the Sharks.

Stephen Lorentz should give a boost to a Panthers penalty kill unit that finished 23rd in the NHL with a kill rate of 76%.

Opinion: Stars’ Mikko Rantanen Returns to Form At the Right Time

It was clear that Mikko Rantanen was not exactly about being traded by the Colorado Avalanche, the only NHL club he had ever known. It was in Colorado where he spent close to 11 seasons, won a Stanley Cup in 2022, had 681 points (287 goals and 394 assists), and made lifelong friends. That is […]

Edmonton Oilers Playoff Thoughts: Round 2, Game 2

It takes four wins to advance, but the Edmonton Oilers historically lose almost every Game 1. In their last 15 rounds, including Tuesday night, they’ve won only four series openers. Even in 2006, they only won one Game 1. If you include that Playoff run, just for laughs, the record is 5 Game 1 wins […]
