Arizona Coyotes Re-Sign Goaltender Connor Ingram

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Coyotes have come to an agreement with RFA goalie Connor Ingram on a 3 year, $1.95 million AAV contract. How does this affect the Coyotes goaltending situation going forward?

Connor Ingram finished last season with a SV% of .907 and a GAA of 3.37, but his stats don’t tell the full story. He had a very poor start to the season that affected his numbers but finished the year strong. If the Coyotes get first-half Ingram, this is about what he should make as a FA, but if they get second-half, a 1.95 deal becomes a bargain bin contract. He and Vejmelka should become a strong 1A/1B type tandem for the next couple of seasons as the team looks to become more competitive. The biggest question is where does Prosvetov fit long-term in the plans? Does he fit in the long-term plans? Likely, not at the moment. He needs to see a significant improvement in his play in the AHL to secure goalie of the future status and get an NHL roster spot and is likely to pass through waivers.

Coyotes fans have some reason for excitement this upcoming season as it appears the Coyotes are making moves that will improve their on-ice product.
