Tonight, the Leafs and Senators face off against each other as the Leafs look to have a less chaotic game and push for another win. The Battle of Ontario hasn’t been much of a battle for the last few years, but the Senators are on the upswing on paper, and even though their start to the season has been weak, they will likely come out strong. The Leafs will need to have a strong game tonight if they want to start building some momentum. Woll starts tonight after helping the Leafs come back against the Lightning Monday night.
Leafs Projected Lineup
Three Things to Look Out For
Lagesson
William Lagesson was the first defenseman that the Leafs called up and has played multiple games with the team. He is starting to settle into his game and is playing NHL-level hockey. He is doing well in his minutes and has sprinkled in some physicality. The Swedish defenseman is poised to join the team on their trip to Sweden and may get a chance to play in front of some friends and family but first needs to focus on the games ahead of him. Look for Lagesson to continue to play well defensively.
Nylander
Speaking of Swedes and Williams, William Nylander has had a career-high start with the Leafs so far this season. He has recorded at least one point every game so far this season. Nylander has looked dominant most of the time so far and is looking to have a career-high season in a contract year. Keep an eye on Nylander tonight as he looks to extend his point streak to 13 games and, continue to play an elite-level transition game and bring more offensive contributions to the lineup.
Järnkrok
Järnkrok has moved between the lineup all season and is the new “Swiss-Army” knife that the Leafs seem to love with Kerfoot now being on another team. Järnkrok hasn’t been on a line that has clicked fully quite yet, but we saw great potential in the last game with Robertson and Domi. Järnkrok came out of the night with two goals (one in overtime) and with their limited usage the third line looked dangerous and capable of providing secondary scoring.
Tonight’s game starts at 7 p.m. EST on Sportsnet!
