With Michigan’s hockey season coming to an end at the hands of the Boston College Golden Eagles, any players rostered by Michigan that were drafted are eligible to sign entry-level contracts with their big club.

Chicago Blackhawks 2022 First round draft pick (13th overall), Michigan forward Frank Nazar inked his name on a three-year entry level contract, and will report to the Blackhawks.

Nazar’s contract starts immediately and runs through the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, carrying a cap hit of $950,000, the entry-level salary.

Nazar played 54 games with the Wolverines, amassing 19 goals with 29 assists, totaling 48 points. During the NCAA tournament, Nazar had one goal and one assist.

Nazar saw time on the ice with Team USA in the World Junior Championships, recording eight points, all assists, in seven games and claiming a gold medal.

Nazar’s joining of the Blackhawks comes as Connor Bedard (2023 #1 overall draft pick) concludes his first partial season with the club sitting at 60 points in 65 games after missing time due to a jaw injury sustained against the New Jersey Devils on January 5th that sidelined him for just over a month, as he returned to the Blackhawks lineup on February 15th.
