In July, Spicer stepped away from Minnesota Duluth after becoming academically ineligible, which put his hockey career in jeopardy after citing personal and mental challenges. The 20-year-old returned to junior hockey and is currently playing with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL.

The left-shot center has seven goals and 23 assists in 36 games. Spicer was the 90th overall pick in the sixth round of the USHL Entry Draft before the season.
