As the Boston Bruins prepared for a Tuesday night battle with divisional rival, the Tampa Bay Lightning, General Manager Don Sweeney announced the following roster transactions:
The team has recalled forward Matt Poitras and defenseman Michael Callahan from Providence and placed forward Mark Kastelic and defenseman Charlie McAvoy on injured reserve. Defenseman Hampus Lindholm was moved to long-term injured reserve. Lindholm has been out since November 12.
Charlie Coyle is sick, listed as a game-time decision.

The 20-year-old Poitras has one goal and three assists in 14 games with Boston this season. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward had been in Providence with the Bruins’ AHL club and scored eight goals with 13 assists in 23 games.
The 25-year-old Callahan has played in 35 games with the Providence Bruins this season, registering one goal and five assists. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound defenseman has played in 175 career AHL games, all with Providence, totaling seven goals and 26 assists for 33 points.
The 25-year-old Kastelic has appeared in 43 games with the Bruins this season, recording four goals and eight assists. The 6-foot-4, 227-pound forward was injured in a previous game against the Lightning on January 9.
The 27-year-old McAvoy has appeared in 45 games with the Bruins this season, recording five goals and 15 assists. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound defenseman had been sporting a cast on his right hand recently and his injury date is listed as January 11.
The Bruins are coming off a 4-3 overtime win over the Florida Panthers Saturday and are currently in the first wild card position in the Eastern Conference.
