Brandon Tanev Injury Update

In the afternoon on Monday, October 16th, the Seattle Kraken announced that forward Brandon Tanev is out with a lower-body injury. This injury was sustained on the October 10th game versus the Vegas Golden Knights. The expected timeline for Tanev’s injury is four-to-six weeks.

Tanev is one of the original members that the Seattle Kraken selected in their expansion draft. Tanev has played in 113 games with the Kraken since joining the Kraken organization. Tanev played a full season with the Kraken in 2022-23, where he posted career high in goals (16), assists (19), and points (35) during his campaign.

Since Seattle joined the NHL, Tanev has been a cornerstone asset for the franchise. Losing Tanev for an extended period of time yet again will shake the team a bit as they look to find their footing this season. Tanev will look to recover quickly from this setback and rejoin the Seattle Kraken as they begin their hunt for the 2024 Stanley Cup.
