Breaking: Detroit Red Wings Trade Ville Husso to Anaheim Ducks

The Detroit Red Wings fresh off a 5-4 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks last night have traded their third goalie Ville Husso to the Ducks. The return for Detroit is future considerations. The Ducks lost goalie John Gibson on Saturday in their win over the Boston Bruins. The move does each of the following for the two teams. It gives the Ducks goalie depth with Gibson’s injury struggles this season. It gives the Red Wings a $3.6 million cap hit, they now have $3 million projected cap space that can fit $14 million in annual cap hit at the deadline. Essentially it allows Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman the opportunity to make a splash at the trade deadline with some big names available.
