Breaking: New York Rangers Acquire Carson Soucy from Vancouver Canucks

Canucks Make Carson Soucy Available for Trade

The New York Rangers currently tied for the final wild card spot entering tonight added some blue-line help as they’ve acquired Carson Soucy from the Vancouver Canucks. The Rangers are sending the San Jose Sharks 2025 third-round pick. Soucy is under contract for next year as well.

The Minnesota Wild drafted Soucy with the 137th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He spent his first three seasons with the Wild playing in 108 games. Soucy recorded 31 points on eight goals and 23 assists. He also was a +36, had 102 blocked shots, and had 135 hits. The Seattle Kraken would draft Soucy in the expansion draft. He played in 142 games over two seasons in Seattle. Soucy had 37 points on 13 goals and 24 assists. He was a +25, had 169 blocked shots, and 261 hits.

He signed with the Canucks where he’s played in 91 games over the last two seasons. Over the last two seasons, Soucy has recorded 14 points on four goals and ten assists. He has been a minus-five and has 147 blocked shots, and 141 hits. This season in 51 games so far, he has eight points on two goals and six assists. He is a -15, has 83 blocked shots, and 76 hits.
