The Chicago Blackhawks are advancing deeper into the process of hiring their next General Manager. They interviewed around seven candidates. According to Elliotte Friedman, Chicago has this number down to three. The three names are Interim General Manager Kyle Davidson, Tampa Bay Lightning’s Mathieu Darche, and Jeff Greenberg of the Chicago cubs. Ben Pope would say this is what he hears as well.
Out of the three names remaining, I think Davidson is the favorite to win the job. Friedman mentioned that Greenberg nocked his interview well over the ivy in deep center. The organization did say that they would be willing to go outside of the box. If this is the case, then would Chicago surround him with “hockey” people since he is coming from the MLB. Could a guy like Hossa or Sharp be added to a more permanent role to assist Greenberg? Then There is Darche, who is working for an organization that is at the top, back-to-back cups. Tampa has been a true model franchise on and off the ice.
Either way, this decision is coming soon. The Blackhawks also put out a statement saying they are moving forward to the next step in the process.
Out of the names left, who would you like to see names as the General Manager of your Chicago Blackhawks?
