This is huge news for all Blackhawk fans! It sounds like Chicago’s bonified number one prospect is on his way to making his much-awaited NHL debut. The native of Nuremberg, Germany, has been called up to the NHL taxi squad. This can only mean one only thing. Lukas Reichel is on his way to pulling on the red and black for the first time in his NHL career. Charlie Roumeliotis would be the first one to break this exciting news! When will he make his NHL debut is still up in the air? But one thing is clear with this move From the Blackhawks his NHL debut will be soon.

Chicago came into the season with a plan to have him play in the AHL and grow, but the play of Reichel has forced their hands. This call-up is coming off a week that saw Reichel win AHL player of the week honors. He scored three goals and had six assists in two games after returning from the Covid list. In just twenty games due to a concussion and missing a few games of Covid. Reichel has eleven goals and twenty total points. According to Rockford interim head coach Anders Sorensen, he’s also making huge strides in his defensive zone. Reichel will immediately impact the Blackhawks when he gets on the ice, and how long will he stay up will be up to his play and management. Let’s just hope they take their time and allow Reichel to develop as a player.
