The career of Patrice Bergeron has been one for the history books, as the veteran forward continues adding to his Hall of Fame career. He has been one of the best, if not THE BEST two-way forward in the history of the NHL. From his efficiency on the faceoff to being a perennial 20-goal scorer all while being one of the best defensive forwards, Bergeron has done it all consistently throughout 19 seasons.
With all this success comes milestones that not many players in the past have accomplished. For Patrice Bergeron, he joined some elite company during the Bruins’ 7-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
The Boston captain was awarded an assist on David Pastrnak’s goal in the second period as the Bruins pushed their lead to 3-1. With that assist, Bergeron recorded his 600th helper of his NHL career.
Only three other Bruins players have achieved the same feat in a Bruins sweater. Bergeron joined Ray Bourque (1,111), Johnny Bucyk (794), and Bobby Orr (624).
Bergeron has the chance to move into third place in franchise history as he stands only 24 assists shy of Orr. If Bergeron would have to play plenty of more seasons if he wishes to catch either Bourque or Bucyk, but at 37 years old, he is on the back nine of his career.
On the season, Bergeron already has 15 goals and 18 assists in only 40 games.
No matter where Bergeron finishes in the rankings, he will go down as one of the greatest players to have worn the black and gold for the Boston Bruins.
