Boston Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery announced Wednesday that forward Morgan Geekie will be week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Geekie was not at practice Wednesday morning as the Bruins began preparations for Thursday’s game against the New York Islanders at TD Garden in Boston. Geekie played 13:13 of ice time in Monday’s 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

Geekie was signed to a two-year contract in the off-season after spending last year with the Seattle Kraken. The 25-year-old right-shot forward has played primarily wing for Boston and has collected one goal and two assists with a plus-4 rating in 12 games this season. Geekie scored his only goal as a Bruin on October 21 in Los Angeles.

The third-round draft pick in 2017 began his career with the Carolina Hurricanes and played 38 total games with them before being drafted in the 2021 Expansion Draft by the Kraken.

The Strathclair, Manitoba native has 23 career regular season goals with 43 assists in 192 games. In 24 postseason games, Geekie has two goals and three assists.
