Carolina Hurricanes in the Four Nations Faceoff: Preview

The Carolina Hurricanes have entered the Four Nations Face-Off holding the second spot in the Metropolitan Division. They are ten points behind the Washington Capitals. With the Four Nations Face-Off starting tomorrow the Hurricanes will be represented by four players. Sebastian Aho and Mikko Rantanen will play for team Finland. Jaccob Slavin will play for team USA. Seth Jarvis will play for Team Canada.

Sebastian Aho:

Aho this season in 55 games has recorded 55 points on 20 goals and 35 assists while averaging 20:11 TOI. He has 17 points on the power-play with four of those coming as goals. Aho has recorded a four shorthanded points with two of those coming on goals. He has six game-winning goals this season as well. Aho also posts a 55.6 faceoff percentage. Aho was seen centering the third line at practice playing alongside Roope Hintz and Patrik Laine. He’s also on the first power-play with Laine, Aleksander Barkov, Mikko Rantanen, and Juuso Valimaki.

Mikko Rantanen:

Rantanen this season in 55 games has 66 points on 26 goals and 40 assists while averaging 22:11 TOI. Since being acquired by Carolina he’s played in six games recording two points on a goal and an assist averaging 19:41 TOI. He has five game-winning goals this season also before the trade. He’s on the top line aside Artturi Lehkonen and Aleksander Barkov. He’s also on the first power-play with Laine, Barkov, Rantanen, and Valimaki.

Jaccob Slavin:

Slavin this season in 56 games has 20 points on four goals and 16 assists in 21:38 TOI. He has recorded 97 blocked shots and 16 hits. Slavin has 71 shots on goal this season. He has two shorthanded points and two game-winning goals this season. At practice today he was paired with Adam Fox. Slavin and Team USA will play Aho, Rantanen, and Team Finland on Thursday night at 8:00 PM EST on ESPN.   

Seth Jarvis:

Jarvis this season in 49 games has recorded 45 points on 22 goals and 23 assists while averaging 19:22 TOI. He has 13 points on the power-play with six of those coming as goals. Jarvis has recorded five shorthanded points with three of those coming on goals. He has one game-winning goal this season as well. Jarvis is playing with Brad Marchand and Brayden Point. Jarvis and Team Canada play tomorrow night at 8:00 PM EST on TNT.
