Carolina Hurricanes re-sign Jesper Fast, Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta

The Carolina Hurricanes got three of their big players back as they re-signed Jesper Fast, Frederik Andersen, and Antti Raanta. The Hurricanes signed Fast to a two-year $2.4 million extension, they got Andersen back with a two-year $3.4 million extension, and Raanta agreed to stay in Carolina with a one-year $1.5 million deal. The Hurricanes bring back their goaltending tandem and Fast to a team that won the Metropolitan division and brought back their needs to open free agency.

Jesper Fast by the numbers

Fast last season, he played in 80 games for the Hurricanes putting up 29 points scoring ten goals, and 19 assists; he was a plus nine. Fast has been with Carolina for three seasons. Before that, he played with the New York Rangers for seven seasons, and in his career, he has played in 630 games, recording 229 points with 85 goals and 144 assists.

Antti Raanta by the numbers

Raanta was fantastic for Carolina last season, playing in 27 games and posting a 19-3-3 record with a .910 save percentage and a 2.23 goals-against average; he also tied his career high in shutouts with four. In his career, Raanta has played in 253 games over ten seasons and is 127-73-27 with a career .918 save percentage and a 2.43 goals-against average; he has 19 career shutouts.

Frederik Andersen, by the numbers

Andersen is back for Carolina after having played 34 games last season for them going 21-11-1 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.48 goals-against average. He has played in 479 games between three teams: the Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Hurricanes. In those games, he is 282-125-52 with a .915 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average.
